Personal Thanksgiving Table Tips – Our Designers Set Their Own Uniquely Special Tables For Thanksgiving!
November 12, 2020
Well, it has been a strange year to say the least. How is it that Thanksgiving is already here and we still have masks on our faces? For both you and for all of us at Tran + Thomas, it will not be the wonderful and traditional shared Thanksgiving like it has been in years past.
For this year’s Thanksgiving, the team at Tran + Thomas has decided that our own tables will look a little different next Thursday. This year our tables would be much more thoughtful.
Below are our ideas straight from our hearts displaying how each of us will personally deck our tables for our closest family members this holiday, pay tribute to the loved ones we have lost and “be with” those that can’t sit at our table with us this year.
We wish you and yours the warmest of Thanksgivings this year and hope these inspire your warm and wonderful table. May your Thanksgiving be surprisingly delightful and we hope the distance will only make your heart grow fonder!
Designer Patrice Mendelson: Our family lost a couple of loved ones these past couple of months. Because of the pandemic, we are celebrating Thanksgiving this year with an intimate dinner of only immediate family. To keep the spirit of our loved ones near and dear, we are using only pieces passed down and old photographs of the family. In one photograph from 1962 is the same table and chairs from which we will now celebrate our Thanksgiving.Designer Patrice Mendelson: Our family lost a couple of loved ones these past couple of months. Designer Kaela Butts: Just having moved into her first home, Kaela is excited for her first Thanksgiving in her new dining room. This gorgeous setting is using items found from her family’s decor and her own combined with the beauty of nature.

Designer Jill Tran: This table setting is a complete nod to her grandparents that passed away almost ten years ago. The Chinese Checkerboard and Yahtzee pieces both belonged to her grandfather when he was a boy and were his favorite games to play with the grandkids. The plates and silver were her grandmother’s and always graced her Thanksgiving table.

Designer Carmen Thomas: Beauty in small changes can add so much to a table. An Alsace glass to raise a candle can be a lovely detail. She wanted to use her wedding china she is gaga over, but not too formal with her fine flatware.
